New River Valley Modular Railroad

Modular Railroad

PARISH HALL, EPISCOPAL CHURCH AT JACKSON AND CHURCH – FRIDAY & SATURDAY

The New River Valley Modular Railroad Club's overall goal is to show the public how much fun model railroading can be, improve our modeling skills, and enjoy our hobby with others. We especially enjoy allowing youngsters to run our trains around the layout.

Our modular layout is HO scale and models the Norfolk & Western transition period of the 1950s and 1960s. We highlight Southern and Norfolk Southern steam and diesel equipment. Scenery is modeled on the hills, valleys, and industry of Southwest Virginia. Using 2' x 4' portable modules, we are currently able to display a 16' x 24' oval layout. We have been featured at 2016 Steppin-Out, The Augusta County Train Show, The Pulaski Train Show, and at Warm Hearth Village, to name a few. During Steppin-Out 2017, we will be running our railroad in the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church at the corner of Jackson and Church Streets from 10:00 to 6:00 on Friday and 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday. See you there. ALL ABOARD!
